This is exactly why it's good to pull a permit. They're not that expensive when you look as the end result of doing the job incorrectly from the get-go.

Once this land is gone to the Chumash, what's next? Another few thousand acres?
Hopefully all of our elected officials from local to our top federal representatives, listen to the majority of their constituents and do the right thing and refuse to sponsor the transfer.
The casino makes enough money per month they can buy what they want, pay their fair share of taxes & abide by the same guidelines as we non-tribal members.

I'm amazed at all the sophisticated technology available to the Coast Guard & other law enforcement agencies, that a crude, outboard motored craft can get all the way from Mexico this far into our supposedly secure country. Amazing!
A discovery like this must be major egg on the faces of all who attempt to shut these small boats & the smuggling down. Boo
Let's step it up, folks!

Nice try, randallB, but as the other posted mentioned, when you're on FELONY probation, you give up many freedoms.
Than goodness Lt. Harwood called in that "favor" as you put it. Give me break! People NEED to know when they're around unscrupulous individuals and also need to feel safe along with their possessions, especially when attending a class they PAID a fee. Hello?
Who are you trying to protect here? Hmmmm

This quote is a bit bothering, "...districts will choose not to remove the tag of “English learner” from children who have become proficient in the language so as to procure more state funding."
This seems dishonest to me. Yes, it's "playing the game," but why lie about reality?
After watching Lance Armstrong's still defiant, word-twisting "confessions" to Oprah last night, I can't help but think "the truth (might actually) set you free," as the saying goes. Just my 2¢ worth here.

I agree with sbbulldog in that the casino draws many strange & very desperate people especially late at night. Living here in the SY Valley, I see hundreds of cars each time I return from a late evening in SB, all pulling into the casino.
I can understand Las Vegas where most people make it a true vacation/entertainment destination. Here though, it's an addiction & attraction for those who need the immediate gratification & rush of what gambling & drugs provide.
Drugs? Yes, many also find the Chumash Casino to be the Alice's Restaurant of the 2000's! Don't believe me? Read the local papers', especially the Valley News, Police Blotter section each Thursday!

I've known Peter for many years and he's is simply the best when it comes to leadership, thinking outside of the box, bringing all stake holders onboard for educational matters and providing a "better mousetrap."
Bravo, Peter!

About time!
Let's hope these now public files are released sooner than later so all can see who exactly was/is out there molesting our sons, nephews, cousins, etc.
My son was in the Boy Scouts in the early 90's and I wonder if I'll see any names I recognize from his troop. Hope not!
Get these files out immediately!

+1 for all comments regarding this asinine legal action.
Pay up Pappas, lick your wounds and Nancy's too & then move on with your pathetic life. Your credibility in the S.Y. Valley is gone forever!
Nancy has finally seen enough of her inherited cash go poof with the Valley Journal, widely known as the Valley Urinal, and is sitting on the side lines for her next insane bout with Valley citizens.
Stay tuned!
