Mose, your assertions are largely wrong.Care to try to show solid evidence for them? And can you say something specific and indisputable to justify your insults?
If not, aren't you merely spouting a particularly pernicious pseudoscience?

I'm delighted to read about Chaucer's continued success. It's a lovely place to wander around in and a fine spot to discover unexpected treasures. And, as maven12 comments, it's a place that has a "feeling about books" that is totally lacking in places like Borders' and Barnes and Noble.

AZ2SB is right on target:
Who is it that considers "Jew" to be a bad word that deserves to be censored? Anyone care to 'fess up?
I didn't think so.

Tam, thank you for taking on this very demanding discussion and staying with it so long. I have very much enjoyed reading this exchange between a number of obviously bright and knowledgeable people.
I have a great interest in this material, but because of my relative inexperience in discussing it I will limit my contribution to suggesting a reading of Alan Watts’ “The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are” and B. A. Wallace’s “Choosing Reality.” Both authors are exceedingly bright, extraordinarily knowledgeable, and very readable, and both powerfully discuss the issues being addressed here.

One commentator here offers a nice summary of conviction — and hanging — on the basis of no verifiable information:
"Well of course Bramsen is lying. And there's just as much proof of that as of Bush lying. BTW, does anyone really believe that Bramsen wasn't taking orders from Dudley so that Bramsen herself wasn't fired? What a tool. And I agree that Dudley should be recalled; actually, she never should have been elected in the first place. Thanks to the SB County machine for bringing us yet another embarassing liar of a politician."
Wow! Like many expressions of outrage and hatred, this declaration and numerous similar ones here seem disinterested in facts, preferring to leap to emotion-driven conclusions.
Depressing reading. Thank heavens for the rule of law, and not of persons. (Well, most of the time anyway.)

As an Adult Ed student for almost ten years, I'm afraid I must agree with GetOverOil, iwahine, and whatsername. I used to teach in a CalState university, and the aura of the SBCC Adult Ed program is exactly what it became at that University when it was taken over by a dictatorial administration with essentially no sense of what education really is, or could be. The current Adult Ed situation is very sad, and I do not believe that economical hard times alone begins to account for it.

Sort of like booze, I guess.
Hey, I have an idea: let's restrict booze the way some people want to restrict marijuana!
(Naw, that wouldn't be right. Drinking booze is all right, but marijuana might lead you to do bad things.)
