Learning foreign languages is a pleasure for me, and Esperanto speakers don't advocate that language as "universal", to be the only language, but always as the second one.
I like pretty much this comparison: Esperanto is as much artificial compared to national languages as gardens and public parks are, if compared to a bush or a jungle. Each one has its own beauty, but of course in different ways. But what do you prefer to manage, to introduce yourself into the nature? A well-arranged and clean garden or a jungle with its pitfalls and beautiful natural chaos? With Esperanto we can enjoy the nature of international communication like in a park. Also the language jungle isn't for everybody...
