The Skinny: Delaney Gibson says she tries “to write interesting music that is still catchy, with kick-ass vocals.” But her music is more than “catchy.” Classically trained in opera and art since age nine, Gibson boldly breaks the mold of untalented, young female artists playing generic (read: annoying) pop songs, and brings her own genre to the table, labeling it “AlternatiVixen.” The extremely talented songwriter has shared the stage with legends such as Barbara Streisand and Andrea Bocelli, participated in the 2007 Sedona Jam Emerging Artists’ Music Festival, the Paso Robles Winery Music Awards, and the Best of L.A. Singer/Songwriters contest. A blend of piano-based pop, lyrics about love, independence, and morality, and a powerhouse, classically trained voice with a sultry edginess makes Delaney Gibson the real deal.
