Combining community spirit and promotional savvy, the Goleta-based software company Citrix Online is offering free use of its remote access technology for those who might be or become unable to reach their offices because of the Zaca fire evacuation orders and road closures. GoToMyPC give employees full access to their office PC files and functions, while GoToMeeting allows workers to screen-share and hold online meetings. Begun by UCSB computer science professor Claus Schauser in 1999, Citrix Systems now employs 600 people in its Goleta offices.
