This morning Caltrans relocked the gates on the Montecito portion of State Highway 144 in Sycamore Canyon, just a couple days after it was opened due to high fire danger.

Heroes of the Rancho Fire
Here’s a report and heartfelt thanks from inside the Rancho fire by Shelly Elnicky with harrowing evacuation photographs by Blessing Martin. The fire is now fully contained after burning 482 acres. Thankfully, no structures were damaged and no injuries occurred. Investigators have determined that it was caused by humans, but are unclear whether it was accidental or intentional.
