The Oak Group’s first painting exhibit in 2008, Backcountry Majesty, showcases the beautiful and diverse landscapes of Los Padres National Forest that encompasses nearly two million acres between Carmel Valley and Los Angeles County. S.B.-based nonprofit Los Padres ForestWatch is dedicated to preserving and restoring its magnificent display of nature, and half of all the proceeds from exhibit sales will help ForestWatch protect our community’s scenic background. View the paintings at the opening reception this Friday, March 28, from 5-8 p.m. at Marcia Burtt Studio (517 Laguna St.), or stop by regular studio hours, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., or by appointment.
