June 13, 1966

The Miranda Rights are established, whereby all criminal suspects must know their rights before interrogation.

June 14, 1777

The United States Congress adopts the Stars and Stripes as the official flag, with 13 stripes and 13 stars, representing the original 13 colonies.

June 16, 1884

The first roller coaster in America opens on Coney Island, New York. It traveled at six miles and hour and cost one nickel per rider.
