Road Closures and Big Crowds Expected to Honor Fallen CHP Officer

Jarrod Martinez, the 30-year-old San Marcos High grad who died last week in a motorcycle crash while on duty as a California Highway Patrol officer, will be honored with a public ceremony at the County Courthouse today, November 4, from 1 to 2 p.m.

The event, which is expected to draw large crowds and numerous dignitaries, will be followed by a procession from the courthouse to Earl Warren Showgrounds, where a private service will be held.

To accommodate the service and allow for ample parking, Anapamu Street, between Santa Barbara and Anacapa streets, as well as parts of Santa Barbara Street will be closed from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
