Nugget Hopes to Strike Gold in Goleta

Summerland's Famed Burger Haven Opens New Location

For those pining for former president Bill Clinton to one day play his sax in Goleta, there’s even more hope, as the Nugget in Summerland-famed for Clinton’s one-time impromptu concert-has opened up a branch to the north (or west, if you prefer). Taking over the spot vacated by the Kona Ranch House, the new Nugget (5685 Calle Real, 964-5200) hopes to pan out offering the same formula of classic favorites at reasonable prices, leading with its list of legendary burgers. Don’t forget to read those menu descriptions to their end, too, as something that sounds as simple as a Guacamole Burger also comes with bacon, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, and onion, nearly enough to give your cardiologist pause (or make him ask for a bite). Beyond the burger, the menu ranges far and wide among classic diner-style delights, from fish and chips to chicken marsala, from fettuccine Alfredo to baby-back ribs.
