Wouldn’t it be cool if you could stand back from Earth and have a look at the geological effects on the planet? Well, you can experience the next best thing at the Gladwin Planetarium’s Magic Planet exhibit.
In the S.B. Museum of Natural History’s Space Lab floats a replica of Earth (not to scale, of course) where visitors can observe “in vivid color and dramatic motion the atmospheric, oceanographic, geological, and planetary processes that affect the third planet from the sun.”
The visuals are supplied by data collected by National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA. Admission for nonmembers is $10 (adult), $7 (senior, teen), or $6 (child). Check it out at 2559 Puesta del Sol Rd. Call 682-4711 or see sbnature.org.
