On view this month at the library’s Faulkner Gallery, you’ll find the fruits of the Santa Barbara Sculptors Guild. There’s a great range of works in three dimensions, from Pat McGinnis’s industrial, somewhat humanoid “Turbo 1820” made from highly polished steel to Francine Kirsch’s “Lovers,” a lump of smooth red alabaster in the form of a heart, or possibly upturned buttocks. Alan Eric Hernandez delivers an unambiguous message with “Infinite Cost,” a light box in which a tiny, flag-draped coffin is reflected in a mirror, its image repeated over and over until you lose count of the iterations.
