Family’s Affairs

Here’s a review of Potiche by someone who actually saw it: The film is well written, droll, bitter-sweet, and well-played. Catherine Deneuve is perfect as the trophy wife who leaps into action when the situation demands it, with dignity and good results.

Sophisticated and relevant, the story happens on several levels: The family and their affairs and intrigues at work and in love, the global economy and the role of women. Relationships prove a delicious stew.
