Dave will be filling the role being vacated by Tony Cipolla. Tony is joining the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office as Public Information Officer. Tony’s last day will be Friday, June 22nd. “We are sad to lose such a great talent as Tony but wish him well with the Sheriff’s Department. He is a terrific journalist and has been such a positive force to Central Coast News and the morning show,” said Kevin Harlan, KCOY CBS 12 / FOX 11 General Manager. “Dave Alley is a hometown guy who has been at the station for 15 years. He knows the area and the unique characteristics that make the Central Coast so special. “

Dave Alley is a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School and attended Cuesta College to earn a degree in Telecommunication Speech. He also holds a degree in Communication Design/Media Arts Degree from Chico State University.

Dave began his career at KCOY in 1997. “I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to anchor our morning show. For me, it is coming full circle. Our morning newscast is where I got my start in the news business when I was first hired by KCOY right out of college. From that entry level position as production assistant, I have since been fortunate to serve in several other various capacities here at the station. I hope that experience will allow me to deliver the news to the Central Coast each day with a unique perspective.”

Among those roles at KCOY CBS 12, videographer, sports reporter/anchor and most recently full-time transition to news and fill-in anchor.

On a personal note, Dave Alley is the devoted husband to wife, Crystal, and proud father of three children.

Watch Dave Alley, along with Weather Forecaster Cassandra Jones, on Central Coast News @ 6am beginning Monday, June 25th.
