Operation KUDOS

Sat Nov 17, 2012 | 10:21am

The Airman and Family Readiness Center, responsible for family members’
programs during deployments, have planned this event in order for children
to experience what happens when their mom or dad deploys overseas.

During the event, children will go through the exact same process as
military members go through to prepare for a deployment.

Pre-deployment events include being issued an identification card, dog tags,
attending briefings, and meeting base leadership. Children will then
“deploy” to various locations to give the children the experience of
deployment training and equipment. There will be displays by military
working dog teams, explosive ordnance teams, medical, chemical gear and fire
department. Children are encouraged to wear their parent’s uniform top at
the event.
