Mon May 27, 2013 | 08:11pm

The last team standing in the CIF Southern Section/Ford spring sports playoffs is Dos Pueblos High in Division 4 softball. The Chargers, 26-3-1 on the year, will host Santa Monica on Tuesday, May 28, in a semifinal game.

UCSB will try to make the most of its first appearance in the NCAA baseball tournament in 12 years, beginning Friday in the double-elimination regional at Oregon State.

The Santa Barbara Foresters, two-time defending champions of the National Baseball Conference World Series, open their 2013 season at UCSB this weekend against the San Diego Waves.

Runners in search of a fast workout will want to lace up their shoes Sunday morning to participate in the Platinum Performance State Street Mile. It starts at the Pedregosa Street intersection at 8 a.m. with seven age-group categories (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-plus) followed by the YMCA Family Mile, the Elite Miles and the Dog Mile, the unofficial world championship for humans leashed to canine milers.
