Ekka Recovery is a carefully curated, monthly subscription box to help alleviate the physical and social discomfort of drug and alcohol recovery. Developed by Nuria Reed and Yvette Jacquez, who hope to curb the national relapse rate, each box is themed and contains four to five high-quality supplements and superfoods to support a more healthy lifestyle.

The founders enlisted health experts Venessa Madrigal and Sasha Gibson to help craft text message reminders, suggested workouts, nutritional recipes, meditation techniques, and yoga poses to promote sleep and ease anxiety. The Ekka team is also building a supportive online community space, hoping to fill the gaps between treatment and real life.

“After watching friends and family struggle with addiction,” said Reed, a former intern at this newspaper, “we wanted to create something that provided sustained holistic support for total mind, body, spirit health.”
