First on this week’s Poodle Radio, Colin Marshall talks to Executive Editor Nick Welsh about his recent Angry Poodle columns on the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, its aging design, and, in light of Japan’s recent disaster, the concerns about the two seismic faults running near it. Then, reporter Ethan Stewart shows up to discuss his cover story on T.C. Boyle, Santa Barbara’s best-known and most prolific novelist, having recently been to Boyle’s house to spend a few hours interviewing him about his new book When the Killing’s Done, his views on the environment, and his use of what he calls “contemplative time.”

As always, the show’s music is organized by Indy Pop Culture Editor Aly Comingore, who this week brings tracks from artists including Middle Brother, the Baseball Project, and Akron/Family, all of whom are scheduled to play Santa Barbara soon. You can tune in to Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.
