On this week’s Poodle Radio, Colin Marshall is joined first by local filmmaker John Lengsfelder, director and presenter of Blind Date Interactive. Less a traditional movie than a collective film experience, it presents the audience with a dating scenario in which two initially clashing personalities come together for breakfast. Throughout the date, the audience is consulted about what the date’s participants should do next. Colin and John talk about the processes, both creative and technological, that led to the project.

Then, Indy culture reporter, Fringe Beat columnist, and film critic Joe Woodard drops by the studio. Joe discusses his musical and artistic interests, his own days on KCSB in the 1980s, and his work as the guitarist and composer of Headless Household. This year, the band released its eighth album, a double-disc package called Basemento. The broadcast includes two tracks from that record and one from Headless Household’s jazzier work in anticipation of their upcoming jazz show at SoHo on Sunday, October 17.

The rest of the show’s music is, as always, organized by pop culture editor Aly Comingore. The tracks included come from Women, Jack Johnson (remixed by Boys Like Us), and The Spires. You can tune into Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.
