Edwin Shaw
On the morning of September 6, Edwin Austin Shaw died peacefully surrounded by his family. Edwin was many things over his 73 years: poet, mask maker, teacher, storyteller, dancer, bird watcher, songwriter, body surfer, Tuvan throat singer, lover of words and music, an artist, and a father. Edwin moved to Santa Barbara in 1972 and for 40 years was a part of the Solstice, poetry, and Dance Away communities. He is survived by his son Toby, his daughter Kaia, his brother Richard, his sister Barbara, and the mother of his children, Valerie.
