Direct from the heart of London, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is today’s critically-acclaimed analogue to the genuine Elizabethan experience. Founded by the pioneering actor and director Sam Wanamaker, who led the effort to rebuild the ancient outdoor theater on London’s South Bank, Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare’s work and the playhouse for which he wrote. In the fast-paced, hilarious and seemingly irreverent The Comedy of Errors, the young playwright explores themes that recur again and again in his later work: mistaken identity, coincidence and the importance of family. Performed with Elizabethan-inspired staging, the fast, furious and extremely funny troupe of players breathes new life into this delightfully anarchic play.
