Local author will discuss the Mayan End of Time and other historical legends.

Description:

Helen Gordon, local author and history professor, will speak on "Mayan Times and End of Time." Dr. Gordon will take her audience to the days of the Conquistadors, when a well-born slave girl is given to Cortes and becomes his companion and translator – and a part of history. Prepare yourself for the pending Mayan “Apocalypse” by learning more of the Mayan culture and how the calendar works. Dr. Gordon will also discuss her book “Malinalli of the Fifth Sun, Mayan times and end of time,” and lead a discussion on the Mayan mysteries.
