Impending fatherhood is exciting but can be a bit overwhelming as well — especially for first-time dads. To help expecting pops make a smooth transition into fatherhood, Cottage Hospital offers a course in daddy boot camp. Participants will learn parenting lessons from veteran dads (and babies); gain understanding about the needs of new moms; and learn creative solutions to the unique problems facing new fathers. The course is for men only; you attend one session in the last trimester of pregnancy, then return as a “veteran” for the second session (when baby is 2 to 3 months old) to inspire and inform the next group of new dads. Classes take place at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. $5 suggested donation per session. Call Steve at 708-6655 or visit cottagehealthsystem.org.
