Several hundred SoCal Edison customers in the downtown Santa Barabara area lost power today. Though the power remained out as of press time, officials said the Zaca Fire is not to blame. Just after 11 a.m., Edison subscribers in and around the 1400 of Anacapa Street-including a few State Street locations-experienced the unplanned outage and occasional power surge. According to Edison officials, the blackout is from a glitch in their underground system.
