Fiesta Spirits

Old Spanish Days may be four months out still, but preparations for the event have already begun. In fact, on Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m., at the Marjorie Luke Theatre, auditions for Spirit and Junior Spirit are being held. It’s quite an honor to be chosen, and as such 31 young folk are competing for the titles. To capture the crown of Spirit you have to be between 16 and 21 years old; for Junior Spirit, you must be between 9 and 11. In past years, the spirit auditions have sold out. Tickets are $20 and available at the Old Spanish Days office at 129 Castillo Street. Call 962-8101 for more information. Fiesta 2009 takes place Wednesday, August 5-Sunday, August 9.
