Just over two months after Patrick Plamondon, a Santa Barbara resident and a former principal at both Hope and Monte Vista Elementary schools, was found dead in a cell at Santa Barbara County Jail, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department announced that the man died due to natural causes. Plamondon had been taken to jail on November 10, 2008, as a result of an alleged violation of a retraining order against his estranged wife. He died at approximately 2:50 a.m. on November 12, from what the results of an autopsy determined was probably cardiac arrhythmia due to hypertension.
