New Engineering Academy at Dos Pueblos

In a ceremony last week at Dos Pueblos High School, the ground was officially broken as construction gets underway for the new Elings Center for Engineering Education. The future home for DP’s acclaimed Engineering Academy, the center is being made possible by a California Career Technical Education grant and some $3 million worth of fundraising, including a hefty gift from the center’s namesake, Virgil Elings. The $6-million project is expected to be completed by July 2011.
