Thursday, May 23, 2013

During a ceremony scheduled for the morning of 5/28, Col. Keith Balts will officially take over for Col. Nina Armagno as commander of the 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Armagno — Vandenberg's first female commander — took over in 2011 and will now move on to Patrick Air Force Base in Florida to head the 45th Space Wing. Balts previously served as the 10th Space Warning Squadron commander at Cavalier Air Force Station in North Dakota as well as the National Reconnaissance Office chief of space tactics in Washington, D.C.
