Responding to Santa Maria Energy’s plan to extract local resources however they can.

Rarely intended yet often foreseen,

So sticky and icky that black tar seems clean,

The gunk in the cracks, the modern black gold,

The grease for the tracks from borrowed to sold,

Liquefied building blocks bubbling up,

Surfaces simmering, burning the cup,

Prevented only by stopping the pour,

One trickle could pickle a cucumber store.
