Wednesday, February 5, 2014 – 9-11pm– KPFK & Soul Rebel hosting Youth Cine Media Film Screening at LA Independent Theatre (251 S Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012) – Q & A – PODER along with other grassroots organizations will be represented

Saturday, February 8, 2014 – 1-2:15pm – Pushing Forward: New Critical Tools for a New Generation – Social Justice Conference Highlighting Positive Change in Action – PODER will be presenting a workshop – Join us after conference for Free Performance by Bambu 4pm at UCSB Multi Cultural Center

Sunday, February 9, 2014 – 11am-12:30pm – Youth Cine Media Film Screening at Lobero Theatre for the SB International Film Festival(33 E Canon Perdido St, Santa Barbara, Ca 93101) –FREE ADMISSION- Bringing Issues of Social Justice to the Big Screen –Local features ranging from the gang injunction to our jails. Followed by Community Dialogue/Potluck 12:30pm at Tony Rays (731 De La Guerra Plaza, Santa Barbara, Ca 93101)

Monday, February 10, 2014 – 8:30am – The next court hearing on the gang injunction case is in Department 5 of the Santa Barbara County Superior Court. It’s unclear if the temporary injunction will go forward, if the case will keep its trial date, if it will be for a temporary or permanent injunction, and if the ACLU of Southern California will get involved. We need to have as many people as possible (especially those that filed declarations) to fill the court!
