Too bad you couldn't find a different photo to run with this news story. The title of the film, "It Runs in the Family," might be perceived by some readers as a deliberate comment about the Douglas family.

It would be great if this were videotaped and aired on one of the community channels for those of us who can't attend.

I have to work... can't get off.

I don't like the use of police mugs when someone has just been arrested -- people look their worst in mug shots. It's almost as if they're guilty even before charges are filed ... if charges are filed.

The only time I think it's appropriate to use police mug shots is if the authorities need the public's help in solving the case -- or if there are victims who might come forward if they see the alleged perpetrator.

This is not a mentally healthy person.

Yes, it's interesting that Santabarbarasblog has had nothing to say about "Dr." Laura's "break" from writing her column for the N-P.

Readers could post and see what happens -- will Santabarbarasblog censor, as does the News-Press?

I worked with Leana at the News-Press and although she was a nice person, she lacked the skills to be a good newspaper journalist. And she let her personal life interfere too much with her work performance.
Editors tried to help her.

I wish her well in her new job.
