chrissylucky7, how do you know the number of wrong way drivers this year is unusual? Just because the media didn't report on it last year doesn't mean it didn't happen.
SpecialK , the problem with the spikes isn't for the wrong way drivers, but the drivers exiting the freeway -- the spikes would damage their tires because the people exiting the freeway are going too fast for the spikes to recoil in time.

Spikes wouldn't work because they're designed for slow traffic, not for people exiting freeways.
And do we really have an increase in the number of wrong way drivers, or is the media just paying attention now because we've had a fatality?
