Don't you just love the "Very Short Memories" of "NOT ONE MORE"!!

This statement goes to every death in IV. But when it comes to ignorance, alcohol, no supervision, no restraint and "it's my right to party" mentality the deaths will continue.

Not one year has not passed and NOTHING has changed in IV. The vigils are gone and its party time. Good luck a HALLOWEEN!!!!

So what your saying henryjk is that his salary is too low?? Since the "economy" gains $300 million shouldn't his salary be much higher if we go by what you say?

The Chancellors job brings nothing to the economy its the institution and the students who pay fees and buy goods around town.

Its a government job not a private job. Why is it ok for these "government" officials to make so much? What is it that they bring to the table?

Getting an education shouldn't cost you an arm and leg. Yet, those on the left seem to scream and yell all day long about wall street earners who actually provide a service while saying nothing about a school principal making $400k a year off the backs of those "poor students"…..

Those in the academia world are complete hypocrites always screaming about "capitalism" and how bad it is until they cash their $400k checks laughing all the way to the bank.

On Chancellor Gets a Raise

What everybody is missing is the $651,100 that the UCSF Chancellor makes. What a joke. The whole system is broken and these nitwits get paid off the backs of all the students who pay way to much to get a degree. The system is broken because voters keep voting in the same idiots who can't do anything without a tax increase to keep the fools voting for them….

Your right. They probably wouldn't show-up at our homes. But with respect to their salaries they are the HIGHEST paid public servants in government when it comes to work.

At 2am there are more fireman sleeping on the job than cops patrolling your streets. There is something fundamentally wrong with that scenario. WHY do we still allow public servants to sleep on the job? Fireman should be put on the same schedule as cops. You could close half the fire stations at night and still receive the same level of service.

Fire unions have so fooled the public into thinking that if they somehow are put on the same schedule or reduce fire stations that Armageddon will occur. It's all smoke and mirrors (pardon the pun)……..

JarvisJarvis great post on their salary. Only problem is they just got another 8+ percent raise.

County Fire Fighters on average per station in a 24 hour shift run a whopping 2 calls for service A DAY! 2 CALLS!!! Mike Dyer and gang are now telling the BOS that they need MORE MONEY for sleeping and that they need to build ANOTHER station at Winchester and Hollister so his people will now run LESS CALLS for service a day.

Don't get me started on how they can call their buddy to fill in while they "CALL IN SICK" trade shifts for a 24 HOUR OT gig then their buddy returns the favor by doing the same. Someone said it best above, Perez is small potatoes compared to how these FF's rape the taxpayers…..

Now I'm sure I will get blasted by FF's or family members who depend on theft of taxpayer monies. I just have one question to you, How do you sleep at night???

"Instead, the jury wrote, salary and budget freezes would likely join layoffs and tax hikes to make up the difference if the economy doesn’t yield the revenue needed for the plan to work."

Any questions??? The Rocket Scientists have most doubtably set into motion the biggest political lies ever told in this county. Can't wait for Sheriff Bill Brown to ask to have his name on this behemoth in big neon lights.

On Jury Still Out on Jail Funding

5 years on the job and a second retirement from a county. Who said double dipping doesn't pay?

Isn't it also funny that he (and the dept.) have to find ways to stay busy by adding more EMT's and Paramedics at a time when budgets are fluid. 80% of county fires calls for service are chasing an AMR ambulance, 80%!

My question to county fire and the Board of Supervisors is, "Why do we need paramedics on fire trucks?" The county already has a contract with AMR that provides that service at NO COST TO THE TAX PAYERS OF SB COUNTY!! Every medic on an engine costs county taxpayers. Does this make sense?

If the county was really looking at ways to cut costs WITHOUT effecting services to the public a duplication in services should be the first to go. But hey, when the fire union runs the fire dept and they pull the strings of every elected official you get what you pay for. REDUCED SERVICES IN OTHER AREAS OF GOVERNMENT BECAUSE MONEY TALKS….

Chief Dyer in 2010 spoke before the Board of Supervisors. He told them his dept ran 11,500 calls for service that year. He has 16 stations throughout the county. Do the math. That means the ENTIRE dept in one day ran 31 calls for service in a 24 hour span or each station ran 1.9 calls per day. HARDLY OVER WORKED but what did he do? He wants MORE personnel and more stations. That means his staff will work less. The public is being fooled by dept heads and your supervisors.

Can't wait to hear from fireman or uninformed voters on this one. Let the, "You can't do that, people will die", or "You just hate fireman", or "You don't know what your talking about".

Remember, 80% of what a fireman does is chasing an ambulance to a call. That leaves 20% doing "Other" calls of which less than 10% are actually fighting fires. Oh, and don't forget they are paid handsomely to sleep on duty as well.

Do a little research for yourself before attacking me and making yourself look foolish. I don't like padding people on the back for only giving 5 years of service and was paid $200K per year. Also remember his first government job probably pays him well in excess of $200K for his years of service at LA County. Give me a break….

The Deputy Sheriff's Association chose not to endorse Bill Brown.

That is a statement in itself. Nothing further needs to be addressed if his own people fail to see his leadership.
