I'm no fan of drunks, but watching the full speed video ( not the slowed down version released by the SB police, which gives the impression that Denunzio was given time to compy) I have to say the arresting officer responded with force a bit too quickly on this one. If you were even mildly impaired, someone PUSHING you I to your car, your going to try to protects yourself from harm by resisting against that force slight. Immediately the cop throws this guy to the ground and two seconds latter starts repeatedly bashing his head into the concrete. Not caring a whit about the reputations of either, but as a casual obversver of this video, if I were on a jury I would certainly vote for excessive force as I don't think Denunzio swung at the policeman or made ANY violent moves. Too much, too soon from the cop, IMO.

Of course the comment above is meant as a joke. I, in no way, advocate drinking and drive. As millions of parents, police and lawmakers know (well, most) thousand of children have been killed by those who drink and drive. Get MADD about it!
On Judge Throws Out Lance DUI Case

Well, now we all know how to wiggle out of a DUI. Just cite: "The City of Santa Barbara vs Peter Lance." If a cop pulls you over for not progressing through a green light, or slumping over at your wheel. DO NOT follow officers orders to step out of your car. THEY DO NOT have probable cause to stop you according to JUDGE BRIAN HILL. Mention Judge Hill's name and the Peter Lance case and the Santa Barbara police will have to let you go. And remember, even if you FAIL A BREATHALIZER, CAN'T PERFORM INTOXICATION TESTS, you cannot be charge with DUI if the police pulled you over with PROBABLE CAUSE. So as long as you don't run a red light or speed, you're apparently golden to guzzle and drive, it seems in Santa Barbara. So the message seems to be drink up folks and go for a spin! A buy one for Judge Brian Hill to thank him, next time you see him!

Nice to hear a more balanced reporting of the case than the lopsided propagandizing by the News-Press. Shameless, terrible reporting by that paper. Why people walked out of that newspaper making accusations of bias and claims of McCaw twisting the news, is becoming more and more clear with the Peter Lance case. The story in today's News Press doesn't even touch on half the facts presented here. I also recommend people look at the coverage at santabarbaranewspressblog.com Also very revealing (and funny) coverage of this case.http://santabarbaranewspressblogcom.b...
On Kasi at the Stand

Kasi Beutel is promoted to the director of MADD and later becomes Attorney General of the United States.
Beutel and Lance and two different people in the same way that JohnLocke and the News-Press are the same person.

...and the short story ends with the sly booze hound in the bow tie winking at the reader and driving off half crocker as the mayor, police chief, and judge all stand outside the court house pointing fingers at each other bickering. The end of the perfect comedy!

"this is beginning to sound like corruption and coverup on a wide scale..." Bwhahahaha. This is beginning to sound like a brass band led by Peter Lance and the News-press to throw up a noisy diversion so Lance won't have to walk to Nipper's bar to pick up ... whatever he picks up there...champagne glasses? talk about an obvious ploy to blow up a DUI into the next OJ cases so a drunk can wiggle free. Ludicrist. And the whole town, even the mayor, is so afraid they'll might be wrong that they are marching right in step to Lances and the News Presses baton waiving. This is like a cheesy short story called "The Town that Cried Corruption."

there's an interesting read on how this "handwriting expert" was kicked out of the forensic examiners organization for faking data for a client!

"No...You don't want hill at you next trial.
Look what the jerk did to that African UCSB Student and then see if you want him as your judge.
Total Incompetence with a dash of injustice."
Oh, he was the one who sent that young boy away for decades, despite an overwhelming call for his case to be reviewed? Forgive me, I don't want him as my judge. Incompetence, no guts, publicity hound and a lousy judge.

"The judge has made it clear he intends to dismiss the case if there’s evidence that shredding took place improperly."
Judge "gutless wonder" Hill. I want him for my next trial!!
