Gotta love the blame game. It always someone else's fault. Take responsibility, man up, and say you didn't know what you were getting into, mismanaged it and screwed up. A simple balance sheet would have worked. They gambled big time and lost....with other people's money. Just like developers. Bastards. I hope everyone lien'd em within 90 days...take everything they got...

This is a gut wrenching story. A simple Health and Safety meeting that included identification of the working hazards could have easily prevented this death. I have got to imagine that no such meeting happened and were never addressed. I hope Cal OSHA investigates thoroughly and finds out why this happened. Very sad.

That was an entertaining read! My favorite quote was "Since its inception, Twiin Productions has sunk more than $4.2 million into the annual West Beach Music Festival without ever making a profit." That is so cool. When I retire, I'm going to go into the concert festival non-profit business. Very fulfilling. What a bunch of horse $#!@

Pardallchewinggumspot is spot on (no pun intended). Statistics are so easy for people to manipulate and almost always incorrectly analyzed. It is highly likely the decrease in crime was a decrease in attendees. Pretty straight forward. However, the Police are in a major battle with the City for pay and of course they're going to spin it this way.

Fiesta brings the absolute worst out of the so-called Santa Barbara Elite. The whole "I'm a 5th generation native Santa Barbaran, where are you from?" phoney balogne is off the richter scale! I've worked some events and it's so sad to see people kiss people's you know what just because they're involved. This whole social scene is pathetic.

Why does everyone want to blame someone for their mistakes or bad judgement? It is a true bummer what she went through and shows the horrible state of our healthcare system. However, a person riding a bike should know that you will encounter hazards during every stroke of the pedal. There are potholes all over town, curbs, uneven surfaces, water on roadways, vehicles, no bike lanes, etc. Cyclists (I am one) are taking risks every ride and you must be aware of that and take responsibility for your decision to operate in a dangerous environment. If a hazard is unknown, exercise extreme caution. A lawsuit would seem reasonable if there was some type of negligence, however, that is all in the eye of the beholder.

This is an awesome story! I almost spit out my coffee with laughter! Good job boys, thanks for making the news entertaining. The only thing better would be a Mel Gibson style racist loony tunes rant......

There is no way this will pass. People are fed up with more taxes. Gov't needs to learn that the era of a pension is over. Healthcare is too expenisve and ultimately will bankrupt all gov't institutions. At that time, the slate will be wiped clean and pensions will disappear. Do not try to stop the inevitable. NO MORE TAXES. SPEND WISELY.
