One of the issues with SBCC is that the concept of a community college was that students were from the local community. I.e. they could live at home in their community.
But that model has changed when SBCC got delusions of grandeur and did all they could to attract out-of-town, out-of-state and out-of-country students.
30,000 students in a community college with the total community population (south coast SB county) of under 200,000 points out just how far this community college has drifted from its original mission.

Sam Tababa, "... Chumash don't exactly stand on high ground. Their greed and hate is more telling of them then this silly outrage. If they were moral, they'd close the casino and convert the land into a park... "
You don't mean to imply that the Chumash aren't just preserving their native culture and traditions do you?
Here I thought that they must have run casinos and hotels back in the day and they are simply carrying on their time-honored traditions..... (with tongue planted firmly in cheek)

"All American should PAY the volunteers for cleaning up their mess."
If the volunteers get paid are they then no longer volunteers but instead are paid employees?
If they become paid employees, does Plains have to give them benefits, etc.?
Just wondering.......... :->)

I thought that prison was supposed to be a bad place to be.
If the current jail is a bad place, isn't that a good thing in that perhaps it will reinforce to criminals that they really don't want to commit more crimes and end up there?
If we make a new jail with a shiny and new dormitory and all sorts of extra-curricula activities will that make it more comfortable to reside there and be less of a deterrent for future criminal activities?

The irony in all the recent actions by Cruz provide graphic evidence of why Cruz was never elected to the City Council.
Yet the fact that he was never elected was used to justify the fact that there is racial polarization.
Rather than racial polarization perhaps we have had "stupidity polarization."

Coyote urine in a spray bottle can be bought on-line. A few squirts on the wheels and underside of the car keep the critters away for a long time, long after the aroma fades (and it is bad right out of the bottle). I've tried a lot of so-called repellants and this is the only thing that I've found to work so far.

My suggestion is for the City Harbor Master to direct the cruise ships to anchor 2 miles off shore. That way the CG can enforce their 500 yard clear zone without interfering with our local operations. If that inconveniences the cruise ship operators, maybe they will then negotiate the issue of the 500 yard zone with the CG and the CG will leave us alone.
