Also, just because it's inaccurately described in the local rag doesn't mean it's true.

Dan, where would the gas tax/ STIP money go if not into the 101 project? Right answer: local infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, etc.) more specifically South County: 1) Carp 2) unincorporated area 3) City of SB 4) city of Goleta. The supposed State/Federal money (you and some other propagandist might called it "state/fed" tax because they collect it but it is given back to the jurisdiction where the "gas" was sold) so it is in fact money that would have gone to local roads if not for this poorly planned boondoggle.

Dan - reading comprehension - there is no state money let me repeat there is no state money. Just because you and others might wish there is doesn't mean it's real, you can't wish it into existence. If we're going to widen the freeway it's going to be on the backs of us locals, there is no state and no federal money identified for this project.

Santa Barbara no longer has Das Williams, makes it darn near perfect. My sympathies Carpinteria.

So wait a minute Dan you say "I do not believe we can stop the concrete nightmare, if we could that would please me most." Are you a CEQA attorney? You must be because you are saying Marc Chytilo's argument is bogus? And notice how you just changed the terms of your rationale for "disliking" Helene... Now you're talking about her pension reform proposal from 2012. As I recall Cathy Murillo, Das Williams, the Unions and the Dem Central committee went ballistic when Helene made the proposal. Further she stated and even Nick reported that besides the needed signatures the city council had to vote to agree to put a companion measure on the ballot (because state law prevent it being done by signatures) for 1/2 the money to go to the schools. Cathy Murillo said she wouldn't vote for it since Helene couldn't then give the money to schools she dropped it. Foolish of Helene to have any faith in the Murillo/Pritchit doing the right thing but you Mr. Dan ought to assign blame based on facts not petty jealousies.

Dan what are you talking about? You "hate the entire project"????
What the heck? Then you say "but if it's going to happen let's just build it now"????

You are the problem with the trolls who occupy these comment pages. You hate Helene we get it - consistency is not an issue for you. But if you do give a sh*! about a good project or if you want to stop it - then get behind the only person who's raising a stink about it and that's Helene.

Ha ha Dr. Dan you must be either insane or really insane. You can't complain on the one hand "Helene is stopping the 101 project" and on the other hand say "the projects needs to be stopped." Your hatred of Helene blinds you. It clearly looks like Helene is trying to stop a bad project if that's what you support maybe you ought to be supporting her.

Never met Sandra Brown. But her big endorsement is Peter Adam. That can't be a good sign.

We've had drought tolerant plants since the 80s. Less work and some great results if you try.

On How are you dealing with the drought?

Of course the EIR needs to be re-circulated.
