Nice reminder for those who may have forgotten the depth of Boy Scout bias and discrimination that reached its peak in 2000-01, validated by the Supreme Court. Locally, Len Lanzi, the Boy Scout Regional Director, was fired. They still discriminate.

What is curious to me is- why does Matt [and the Indy] view this as worthy of such extensive journalistic intrigue? People file claims every day- people have accidents every day- algae collects, it rains, bla bla bla. So to have such a huge second story on this is- well- curious.

Any idea how much these condos will go for? What is the vacancy rate on the Chapala One condos? If this march uptown continues, what's next, tear down Derf's cafe and put the next 30+unit 40' building in? I'm not being rhetorical, I really wonder.

I missed the part about "the brothers trying to do better".
They are still playing the same shell game they've played for the last two years. Enough already. Move on boys, to another "beach" upon which to hold your "festival". Santa Barbara was never anything more than just a golden name for you.

hmmmm....no, reality check but I wonder- I've yet to hear Dan's "coming up with" 1/2 billion dollars- oh wait, no, Andy Caldwell is saying "billion"...oh, Lanny and Joe and taxpayers assoc "independent" mailers are saying over a billion- you are all riding the fox-news fear wave-or trying to- with great hyperbole, personal attacks and zero substance. I understand the desperation politics from a strategic standpoint, but it is so irresponsible and lacks integrity.

Well written and analyzed piece, Indy-kudos. As noted, Wolf's thoroughness, intelligence and willingness to challenge the status quo have made her one of the best Supervisors this County-let alone the Second District have seen. Wolf has heartily earned re-election. We need her now more than ever as the next four years-as you note in your endorsement-are filled with decisions that will make or break the essence of who we are on the south coast.

Yea I remember that original blog string after this child molester was first arrested, and the high and mighty tripping all over themselves basically accusing these children of lying [of course, using other words to do so].
Those poor kids. Revictimized originally by this child molester, than over and over again by "family friends" who failed to believe them.

hmmm well, perhaps the "recent national trends" to be a teabagger might mean more if Secord moved to the fifth district where the right-wing momentum might mean play. Does he really want to hitch his erstwhile wagon, already missing one wheel from his loss in 2006, to a movement that gets its wind from a sea of misinformation and rhetoric a la Glen Beck and Sean Hannity?

Hmmmm where were all these fiscal conservatives a la Taxpayer Assoc during the previous Firestone-led BOS majority 2005-2009 when all the executive salaries including and esp those surrounding Mike Brown went sky high----for those who can't do the math, that means it is their retirement costs that are exorbitant- not those of the average blue collar public employee
