Thu Mar 30, 2006 | 12:00pm

In honor of César Chávez Week, some 40 students from S.B. City
College SLAP (Student Labor Action Project) marched on their campus
Monday. Rallying in front of the SBCC administration building, SLAP
protesters demanded SBCC President John Romo’s support of the equal
educational access Dream Act. Speakers Joey Williams, Anayeli
Calles, and Shawn Tallant recounted Chávez’s legacy and voiced
their opposition to anti-immigration bill HR4437 being considered
by the U.S. Senate.
