QUIT YOUR DAY JOB:

The Labor Line on Yanonali Street, where dozens of men wait for
day jobs, is also serving as a drug dealers’ hangout. Santa Barbara
narcotics officers and federal drug enforcement officers conducted
a sting last Thursday that nabbed one alleged customer, Dale Moody,
and three men – ranging in age from 31 to 58 – who were working
together to sell crack cocaine they had stashed in the bushes,
police said. On that same day, Ortega Park also proved to be a
hotbed of drug activity; one woman was arrested for possession,
while four others – whom officers said were grouped together at a
picnic table as “a loose confederation of dealers and lookouts” –
were netted for sales.
