PARADISE LOST: A private slice of paradise just south of Jalama
Beach County Park known as the Cojo Ranch is officially up for
grabs. Widely rumored to be on the block for some time, the
8,580-acre ranch – with nine miles of untouched coastline – was
only recently listed on the Internet sites of Sotheby’s
International Realty and Kerry Mormann and Associates. With an
asking price of more than $120 million, the historic rancho offers
up 37 legal parcels varying in size from 4 to 4,400 acres, not to
mention a host of landmarks and archeological sites such as the
Point Conception Lighthouse. The Bixby Ranch Company has owned and
operated the property as a working cattle and horse farm since
1913.
