Many of the front country canyon trails tease you with a glimpse here and there of cascading falls and waist-deep pools, yet most of them don’t let you get too close. Fortunately, here and there, side paths will get you down to the creek. Places such as this are perfect for the kids to play, though you might want to have a good idea of what poison oak looks like before you venture too close. Often the easiest way to find falls such as this is by creek hopping your way back down until you reach either a spot where the main trail crosses the creek or another of the side trails that will take you back to it.
