With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows coming out in July, magic is in the air and tensions are running high as fans wonder: Is Snape friend or foe? Will Voldemort win in the end? Although these questions can’t be answered until the book’s release on July 21, there’s no reason to wait to get in on the fun, with Borders on State Street as your wizardly lair.

1) Know more about Harry Potter than anyone else?

On July 1, 8, and 15, Borders will hold trivia contests at 3 p.m. Whether the questions revolve around the characters, the magic, or the castle of Hogwarts, the competition will be fierce. If you can’t stun your opponents with a magic wand, then memorize all six books in preparation.

2) The Great Snape Debate

Is he friend or foe? Do you have undeniable proof? On July 20, enter the debate at Borders and tell the world your opinion of Severus Snape. Convince the fans of your point of view and win raffle tickets for prizes galore.

3) Be first in line!

The Grand Hallows Ball, beginning at 9:30 p.m. on July 20 at Borders, ought to be a magical evening-but nothing could be more magical for a Potter fan than to be the first, the very first, to carry off a copy of Hallows.
