Monday, Aug 20, The Biko House in Isla Vista will be hosting a night of mellow acoustic tunes featuring Balmorhea, Clitorectomy and the Mutilators and Watercolor Paintings.

The Austin, Texas, based Balmorhea, an experimental instrumental band, will be headlining the show. The under card features two folksy one-woman bands. Clitorectomy and the Mutilators is primarily Pussy Willow Sparks playing the guitar and singing while her co-feature, Watercolor Paintings is made up of Rebecca Redman’s vocals and ukulele.

Both Balmorhea and Watercolor Paintings are in the middle of national tours and Clitorectomy and the Mutilators have multiple shows scheduled locally. All of the acts scheduled to perform play music not normally found in today’s mainstream industry, although Watercolor Paintings would have been right at home if it was featured on the 50 First Dates soundtrack. The evening promises to be filled with good vibes and a relaxed atmosphere. Expect a lot of soft hymns and smoke in the air.

The show begins at 8 p.m. The Biko House is located at 6612 Sueno Road in Isla Vista.
