Two of my favorite places to visit in Santa Barbara over the past 60 years have been the Natural History Museum and the Botanic Gardens, both located in Mission Canyon. I have attended classes at both institutions and appreciate the quality of the facilities and the expertise of the instructors. Both places are a repository of invaluable information about unique qualities of our local environs.
Certainly subtle changes have occurred at each campus over the many years since I first stepped upon their grounds, and I trust that further work needed to maintain and update the buildings and landscapes will be carefully planned and executed with the least disturbance to their visual and serene settings.
