Rockin’ Yogurt

Comebacks are huge in music, fashion, and apparently frozen yogurt. Penguin’s, which once reigned as king on the corner of State and Carrillo streets, is long gone, but the new generation of the frozen stuff is making a comeback on State, only this time at Rockin’ Yogurt on the 600 block.

Nonfat, healthy, and oh-so creamy. Sounds like the yogurt of days gone by, but this is not the stuff of the big hair days-this is better, and it’s Italian! The fresh, tart flavor of this treat will get your taste buds jumping. The flavors on tap currently are strawberry, mango, green tea, and regular. Other varieties are rotated in. The yogurt is delicious on its own or enhanced with a topping or two. The Mochi chunks are a big hit and you can’t go wrong with the Berry Man’s fresh berries.

Rockin’ Yogurt has been open for only two months, but already has gained a steady stream of return customers. According to the staff, some customers are so hooked, they call on the weekends right before the shop closes at midnight, begging them to stay open so they can feed their addiction.
