As of 11 a.m., stationed in a tent at San Marcos High School he had filed 10 claims arising from the Tea Fire; other insurers are also on hand. Fire insurance is generally part of homeowners’ insurance, and is in place virtually every time a home is bought or sold; most banks will not finance a home without it.
