Rain-Related Evacuations Begin

Residents of Tea Fire Burn Area Advised to Leave Their Homes

Tue Nov 25, 2008 | 05:24pm

From county spokesperson William Boyer:

Santa Barbara County and City emergency officials are issuing an Evacuation Order for residents within the Tea Fire burn area, including the Sycamore Canyon area, due to rainy weather conditions and the increased risk of potential flooding and mudslides.

Specific streets to fully identify the exact boundaries are forthcoming, but will include residences within the burn area.

An Evacuation Order means residents are advised to leave the area now.

A Red Cross Emergency Shelter via the Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross is being established at Santa Barbara High School, 700 E. Anapamu St.

More details to come as they become available.
