Domino’s, County Fire Team Up for Fire Safety Program

Free Pizza to Award People with Working Smoke Detectors

Thu Mar 05, 2009 | 06:00am

Beginning Friday, March 6, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, along with other local fire departments, will join Domino’s Pizza to promote fire safety. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., fire engines will follow along on randomly chosen Domino’s deliveries, and firefighters will check the fire alarms of willing participants.

According to a SBC Fire press release, if the alarms are found to be in working order, the pizza will be free of charge. However, if there is not a smoke detector in the home, Domino’s will give one to that customer to be installed by the resident. If there is an existing alarm and the batteries are missing or discharged, Domino’s will supply new batteries.
