SPRING BREAK, EH? When other UCSB students sojourned to sun-drenched destinations, Independent intern Sara Tan headed to British Columbia with her eight roommates. Though in a rented 12-seater they dubbed “the white fox” instead of Tan’s trademark Volkswagen Bug, Tan herself still did much of the driving. Not the typical spring break, sure, but Tan isn’t the typical student. This Aliso Viejo native arrived at The Independent with a resume chock-full of writing work, a nearly completed communication major, and minors in art history and editing.
